SENER: above and below ground
SENER: above and below ground
Recent news from SENER, the Engineering and Construction multinational, whose Catalan headquarters are set up in Barcelona Synchrotron Park, come from both above and below ground.
SENER has been recently awarded the contract for the extension of Porto Metro Network (Portugal). SENER will perform the detailed design of the new line (Circular Line), an underground section of 2.8 km and 4 stations. It is worth noting that, according to the specialist journal ENR, SENER is number 25 among the international engineering companies in transport engineering design and number 15 in mass transit and rail. In this latter sector, it is also the number one company in Spain and the seventh in Europe.
In outer space, SENER supplies the mechanism for the Sentinel-3B Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer: Sentinel-3B satellite launched last week will join its twin, Sentinel-3A, in orbit to systematically monitor Earth’s oceans, land, ice and atmosphere as part of the Copernicus European Earth observation program, an initiative led by the European Commission in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA).
Regarding space as well, SENER announced few days ago that ESA had selected SENER’s clamping mechanism in the e.Deorbit mission as part of the solution to combat the space debris problem.
Congratulations!
