From brick to neuron
The secretary-general of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has emphasized that the idea of moving from “brick to neuron” may seem a cliché but it corresponds to a reality Spain is carrying out to get out of “the pernicious effects of the crisis”.

Mexican José Ángel Gurría made this statement last September 8 ahead of the presentation in Madrid of the OECD’s latest two-yearly report on Spain.

The international organisation improved its forecasts for Spain and predicts a 1.2% GDP growth for 2014 and a 1.6% growth for 2015 but it also warned that the pace of reform should be kept up because of the still fragile situation due to the high public debt level and unemployment rate.

Moving from brick to neuron, moving from an economy over-dependent on the building sector to an economy based on the added value of R&D and innovation, is the mission of the Barcelona Synchrotron Park that offers worldwide innovative companies an interesting ecosystem for developing new products and opening up new markets.
